sxsw'ed

It was the last day of our spring break. Catcher was coming home in the morning, and Dad would be back the following. Other than negotiating through the heavy downtown traffic, the girls and I had not properly experienced this year's South by Southwest festivities. On Saturday evening, we changed that by meeting friends across from Auditorium Shores for some free music during the last moments of revelry.

Our adventure started in the late afternoon around 4:00pm. After finding the perfect spot to "pop a squat," to quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, we devoured our picnic/snack/dinner to the sounds of JJ Grey & MOFRO. Scout was deep in thought.

Tillie played with a hat.

She took it off and on, and off and on, and off and on. Babies playing with hats is cute.

And then the sun began to set. The music got louder, and this happened:

Scout took off her shirt.

Tillie drank empties.

Scout went wild.

She jumped.

She ran.

She danced.

Tillie just chilled...

and tried to crawl down the hill.
