kids in shades

There's something funny--and maybe slightly freaky--about kids in sunglasses. Catcher and Scout were each given a pair yesterday, so this afternoon Catcher said, "I want to go outside and sit in the sun with my sunglasses on." Sure...why not.

Here they are gearing up for the scooter/bike sidewalk races (one of my favorite afternoon activities, by the way, as I perch myself on the front porch and watch):

After all the racing activity, plus a game or two of tag, it was time for the little ones to take a break. Look closely at the first picture--Tillie is eyeballing Scout's sunglasses. Guess what happens when she tries to take them away.
