There was some serious game-time strategy going on this morning as Alex stepped in to act as coach-for-the-day at Scout's inaugural soccer game. Catcher was his enthusiastic assistant who ventured out-of-bounds to fetch wayward balls and kept track of players as they tagged in and out of the game--any excuse for Catcher to boss younger kids around is a worthy cause.
Scout showed the grit and determination I would expect from her as she scored three goals for her team and came in contact with the field more than any other player out there. At one point I believe she actually "ate dirt" as a girl from the other team sent her face-first into the ground following a questionable play for the ball. Scout came out and shed a few tears on the sideline, but then she was back with a vengeance. She's a hustler, baby.
