Keeping in the spirit of the holiday season (and to make up for last night's anti-climatic event) tonight we visited the Four Seasons in downtown Austin for their annual holiday gingerbread house display. The showcase is free and open to the public from Thanksgiving until the New Year, but if you time it right you can visit during the hotel's open house when they serve cider, cookies and--most importantly--sparkling wine. Never wanting to miss an opportunity for free food and/or festive beverages, we make a point to visit during the open house (duh!). The theme for the gingerbread houses this year is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and judging by the smiles on their faces, I think it was a hit with the kids. Or maybe it was the free cookies...
