ginger wonderland

Tonight the Four Seasons in Austin hosted an open house to kick-off their annual gingerbread house display. The display features gingerbread houses crafted in the form of Austin icons, and the "open house" means cider, cookies, and champagne for the onlookers. We were there.

It was nice to see a few of our favorite Austin spots represented in the ginger-world:

Catcher was fascinated by the gingerbread display; Scout was fascinated--and generously partook of--the cookie display. Tillie swiped at my champagne from her vantage point in the Baby Bjorn and got a firm hand on my snowflake sugar cookie.

Neither Catcher nor Scout was willing to sit on Santa's lap--see how close Scout got, below, while Catcher was hovering by my knees--but I guess that's what Christmas is all about.
