the one and only ivan

The other day Catcher came home from school and told me he would like to start a journal. Funny because I had just read something recently about keeping a reading journal with your preschooler, so I knew what to do (or at least had an idea of what to do).

Today I bought him the book The One and Only Ivan and a blank journal. I've never read the book myself, but it was recommended and has won an award or something. It's about a gorilla who lives in a mall...sounds promising.

When I asked Catcher what he wanted to call the journal, he said "How about 'Lots of Words Journal'?" Sounds promising.
