It's late October or, as I like to call it, the season of festivals in Austin. When we reach this time of year, it's generally chilly enough--like 80-something degrees versus 90-something--that every organization, group, neighborhood and citizens brigade you can name hosts its own fiesta on the weekends. On Sunday we ventured out to the Hyde Park Fire Station Festival to celebrate fire trucks and Halloween (although we skipped the costume portion of the celebration). There were a couple of tears shed, when Tillie was told she couldn't eat the clay that Catcher was using to make a plate, but popcorn and M&Ms dissolved them away in no time.
